The hotel, set within its own grounds, is located on the A82 approximately 7 miles north of Spean Bridge and just 17 miles from Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the UK, the newly designated Lochaber Geopark and, of course, home to Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain.

The hotel is ideally situated as a base for touring the Western Highlands and Islands, Lochaber, Inverness to the North and Aviemore and the Cairngorms to the East.  We also have a brand new private jetty to catering for our boating visitors.

Things to Do in Lochaber

This area offers a wide range of activities and places to visit.  Here are a few suggestions:

Skiing, Snowboarding & Biking
Nevis Range is an all year round mountain ski resort and is situated 7 miles north of Fort William.  The popular World Cup Bike Championships are also held there every year, which brings thousands of people to Fort William every year. 

The Ice Factor
The Ice Factor features the UK 's largest articulated rock climbing wall making it the perfect place to practise, train and learn mountaineering skills.

Vertical Descents
Vertical Descents is a modern outdoor adventure activity centre offering a wide range of activities including Canyoning, White Water Rafting and Paintballing.

Go Karting
Raceway Karting Centre is an excellent day out. The centre is just one mile away from Fort William and is well worth a visit for kids of all ages!

Fired Art
Fired Art is an innovative, paint-your-own-pottery studio with a warm quircky cafe open to all. It is also a booking office and ticket office for local music events.

Jacobite Steam Train
Take a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train from Fort William to Mallaig.  You will visit the famous sites shot on the Harry Potter Movies!

Clay Pigoen Shooting at Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel
The Hotel has a brand new automatic clay pigeon trap and we can offer our guests exclusive shooting from the Osprey Sun Deck with the fabulous Loch Lochy and surrounding mountains as a back drop.  We can cater for five people shooting at one time, with instruction and supervision.

Fishing
There is excellent sea and freshwater fishing around Fort William.
